Not to brag or anything, but me and BFF Renee George took Charlaine Harris to dinner this evening. Earlier, we went to Barnes & Noble and picked up copies of FROM DEAD TO WORSE. (I will not read, I will not read, I will not read … I will write, I will write, I will write.) We fed Charlaine before we actually sprang our books on her and forced her to take pictures with us. Muhahahahaha… if only she’d known the true price of that chicken pecan salad. No, really. Charlaine is very nice and we had a lovely time. She showed us pictures from the set of “True Blood,” which begins airing on HBO on September 7th.
Charlaine came to Tulsa on the second day of her book tour for FROM DEAD TO WORSE. She talked a little about her books, answered questions, and then got to signing. Barnes & Noble was PACKED, even though it was raining and under threat of tornado. Just goes to show that Tulsans love them some Charlaine!

I had every intention of going to Barnes & Noble on Wednesday to see Charlaine Harris, but I am a big chicken about bad weather. I decided I didn’t want to get three kids out in the middle of tornado warnings. I will be there tonight though. My babysitter fell through, so I will be the crazy woman with three small kids.

No tornado warnings so far today, guys! LOL. Lori, tornadoes in Wyoming, really?
Terri … you should’ve seen the place, packed!
Thanks for all your kind comments about the vampire series. Don’t tell, Shalagh, but Jessica is my favorite, too.
And Carrie … woo-hoo! Can’t wait to see you tonight. My son might be there, too. We can overrun the B&N with our offspring. LOL.

Michele,
Yes, we really did have a tornado warning and one touched down near us…I am in Casper. I was at work when it happened. This alarm sounds and we all have to trudge into this windowless room that is set up for trainings or into the bathrooms. I absolutely decided to pass on the bathrooms.
I wasn’t too concerned except that it was right around the time my two middle schoolers get home off the bus. So, I had some moments of worry until I got ahold of them and then all was well. My fifth grader said that they would not release them from school until all the bad weather broke for a bit. Which was very good.

Renee and I were talking about CH’s books at RT and she told me I had to try the other series’ apart from Sookie. I’ve tried two so far and loved – just waiting for the next amazon haul. Pretty soon I’ll have read them all – she’s very diverse.
